So much is happening in our small district! One of our goals is to help keep you informed of all the changes and positive activities taking place. We’ll be updating this page frequently with the latest news and events, allowing you to have the most up-to-date information possible.

Closure of School Year

Governor Ducey and State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Hoffman stated that the current school closure will be extended through the end of the school year at this time. The announcement is intended to give parents and educators as much certainty as possible so they can plan and make decisions.

Wenden School District #19 will provide take-home learning opportunities for all our students. We will continue making our best effort possible to provide quality instruction and meet the needs of all students.

We will continue to drop off daily breakfast and lunches and their instructional packets at the same time. Packets are due back to the teachers every Thursday when our drivers deliver lunches. It is critical that you return packets on time so that teachers can grade, evaluate, and give feedback on weekly lessons. Teacher contact information will be in each student's packet should you have questions regarding homework.

Please take a moment to read Superintendent Gloria Dean's complete letter regarding the closure of the school year.

Distance Learning During School Closure

Beginning on Monday, March 30, 2020, Wenden Elementary School will provide distance learning to all students by means of packets, online activities, and hand-on projects aligned to their academic grade. Please read the complete letter from the superintendent for more information about the distance=learning process.

Meal Distribution

Wenden Elementary School District Food Service will be providing an opportunity to families to drive thru or walk up to the school site to pick up a sack meal for the children enrolled in preschool through 8th grades. Meal distributions sites will be located in Wenden outside the parking lot facing the backside of the gym where the double gym doors are and at the Indian Hills Community Center.

If you are driving, please stay in your vehicle and meals will be passed through to the driver. Please view our lunch distribution letter for more information.

Cafeteria Workers Needed

Wenden Elementary School is looking to fill a part-time, on-call position in the cafeteria. This is a relief position and hours vary from four to seven hours when needed. We require a La Paz County health card and a fingerprint clearance card. This position is open until filled. Applications are available at the Wenden School office on Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
