Elementary students outside

Welcome to Wenden Elementary

Welcome to the internet home of Wenden School District. We are a small, rural district located in Wenden, Arizona, approximately 45 miles west of Wickenburg. Our town is considered the “Gateway to Alamo Lake,” providing sustenance and services to travelers along Highway 60. Our small population lets provide the one-on-one attention students need as well as have a great rapport with our parents and community. We hope you find what you are looking for here on our website. If you are ever in our area, feel free to drop in and say hello. We’d love to meet you!

A Message From Our Superintendent

Dear Parents and Students

I hope you have all enjoyed your summer break and that you and your family were able to spend quality time together. Remember, it doesn't matter where you are as long as are together.

Your first few weeks of school will look somewhat different than what we have planned for rest of the year. We have two additional teachers, one who is already here with us. Some of you may already know her; Ms. Clark in the first and second grade classroom. She and Ms. Jessica will be teaching in there until our new teacher arrives. Once our new first and second grade teacher arrives, all grades kindergarten through eighth grades will have electives to choose from for the afternoon schedules. The electives will vary for grades K–5th and 6–8th grades. Some of those electives will consist of the following as listed below:

  • K–5th: Dual Lingo, PE/Health, Art. Gardening/STEM, Keyboarding, and Life Skills
  • 6–8th: Art Design/STEM, CAD/STEM, Career Exploration, Life Skills, Yearbook/Journalism, and First Aide

Please keep in mind that each teacher will have a slightly different schedule. All elective classes and curriculum will align with the state standards and include math, science, reading, writing, or technology. During the first year, keep in mind that there will probably be kinks but also celebrations as we navigate through a completely new way of learning as we already know that one size doesn't fit all.

We are also searching for a boy’s 5th–6th grade flag football coach, to coach after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Lastly, I would also like to let parents and students know that Wenden school will have early release every Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

Remember, together we can do amazing things.

Sincerely,

Gloria Dean
